1. Introduction
Chalad Code ("we", "us", "our") is an online education provider operating in Thailand. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from visitors and learners, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
This policy applies to information collected through our website at chaladcode.world, through enrolment forms, and through communication with our team. If you have any questions about this policy, you may reach us at [email protected].
We process personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA) of Thailand.
2. Data We Collect
We collect personal information in the following situations:
- Enquiry and enrolment forms: name, email address, phone number (optional), and any message you choose to include.
- Course participation: submitted exercises and project files, communication with mentors, and check-in records.
- Website usage: cookies and usage data collected automatically when you visit our site (see Section 5).
We do not collect payment details directly — payment processing is handled by third-party providers.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiries and provide information about our courses.
- To manage your enrolment and deliver course materials and mentor feedback.
- To communicate with you about your course progress, check-ins, and important updates.
- To improve our course content based on aggregate learner feedback (no individual learner is identifiable in this analysis).
- To comply with legal obligations under Thai law.
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising.
Legal basis: We process your data under the following bases as defined by the PDPA: (a) your consent, given when you submit a form or enrol in a course; (b) performance of a contract, when processing is necessary to deliver the course you enrolled in; and (c) legitimate interests, where we have a reasonable business need that does not override your rights.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal data for the following periods:
- Enquiry data (name, email, message) not leading to enrolment: deleted after 12 months.
- Enrolment and course participation records: retained for 3 years after the end of the course for administrative purposes.
- Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by Thai accounting regulations.
After the retention period, data is deleted securely or anonymised.
5. Cookies
Our website uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser — to remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. We use essential cookies that are necessary for the site to function, and optional analytics cookies that help us understand visitor behaviour in aggregate.
You can manage your cookie preferences using the cookie controls on our website or through your browser settings. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- Course delivery: Mentor team members have access to submitted exercises and contact details of enrolled learners.
- Service providers: We use third-party tools for email communication and website hosting. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by Thai law or a competent authority.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. These include access controls limiting who within our team can view learner records, the use of HTTPS encryption on our website, and regular review of our security practices.
In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant Thai supervisory authority within the timeframe required by the PDPA.
8. Your Rights
Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: You may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure: You may ask us to delete your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Right to data portability: You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Right to lodge a complaint: You may contact the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) in Thailand if you believe your data has been mishandled.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to external resources, tools or platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
10. Children's Privacy
Our courses are designed for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data through our site, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify enrolled learners by email. Continued use of our services after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
